Jane Woodward

Jane Woodward is Managing Partner of WovenEarth Ventures, a strategic fund-of-funds manager investing in the Unstoppable Wave of Better, Cleaner Technologies with the ambition to build a trusted bridge for investors into the emerging, technical, and dynamic subsector of US early-stage clean technology. Jane also serves on the board of the enhanced geothermal company Fervo Energy, a role she has held since 2021.
Jane founded MAP Energy in 1986 investing in energy transition, including US natural gas royalties, and wind, solar, and energy storage early-stage project development ($2.5B AUM in 2020). MAP’s wind, solar, and storage business was sold to GIP in 2020.
Jane is an Adjunct Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford University, where she has taught energy and clean technology classes since 1991. She is on the teaching teams for Understand Energy and Stanford Climate Ventures and serves on Stanford’s Precourt Institute for Energy Advisory Council. Jane holds a B.A. in Geology (UCSB), an M.S. in Applied Earth Science, and an M.B.A. (both Stanford University). Jane built The Foster Museum in Palo Alto, CA dedicated to the watercolour wilderness Journeys of British artist Tony Foster.
